The Bluetti AC180 occupies a sweet spot in the portable power station market: 1,152Wh of LFP capacity, 2,400W AC output, and at just 16kg, significantly lighter than most comparable units. It is the power station we recommend to buyers who want the LFP longevity advantage without carrying a heavy unit.

Who Is Bluetti?

Bluetti (formally Maxoak) has been in the portable power space since 2008 — longer than EcoFlow or Jackery — and has built a strong reputation particularly in the larger capacity segment. The AC180 represents their move into the highly competitive 1,000-1,200Wh mid-range segment where EcoFlow and Jackery have historically dominated.

LFP Battery: The Key Advantage

The AC180 uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry rated for 3,500+ cycles — matching EcoFlow's leading specification and significantly better than Jackery's older NMC models (though Jackery's newer Explorer Pro models also now use LFP at 1,000 cycles). At one full cycle per day, 3,500 cycles equals nearly 10 years of daily use before the battery drops below 80% capacity.

LFP also runs cooler than NMC, making the AC180 notably quiet — the cooling fan is rarely audible in normal use, a genuine advantage for home backup and quiet environments like camping.

Performance Testing

AC output of 2,400W handled everything we threw at it: microwave, coffee machine, small electric kettle, and laptop charging simultaneously (approximately 2,300W total load) without triggering overload protection. Runtime on a typical mixed load of 300W averaged 3.2 hours — consistent with the rated capacity minus standard inverter losses.

AC180 vs EcoFlow Delta 2

The EcoFlow Delta 2 ($999, 1024Wh, 1800W) is the most direct competitor. The AC180 has higher capacity (1152Wh vs 1024Wh), higher AC output (2400W vs 1800W), and faster charging — but EcoFlow has a superior app and expandability ecosystem. For buyers who do not need the EcoFlow ecosystem, the AC180 offers better raw specifications at the same price.
